Report Designer (RD)

Accredo’s Report Designer (RD) module forms part of the “power core” of the Accredo system. A banded Report Designer powered by SQL (Structured Query Language) and Visual Basic-style scripting with a WYSIWYG graphical user interface, RD gives you unlimited power to report on data in your system.

SQL queries give you complete control over the raw data for your reports – you decide what information is relevant to you. A simple query builder allows anybody to write queries even if you don’t know SQL, or you can write and edit the SQL yourself.

Lay out reports in the design window, using the wizard to design easily and extra quickly. RD also lets you specify rules for exporting report data to Excel or CSV files, and, as with all Accredo reports, you can view reports on screen, print, email or save in PDF, Excel or CSV formats.

Let us tell you more about just some of the innovative features of Accredo’s RD module.

Work smarter, not harder

Avoid piles of paperwork
Who wants to compile 20 different performance reports each month? Who wants to print them? And who wants to read them? Use RD to create a single page report capturing all the essential information you need to monitor and manage your business performance, then save it as an Excel spreadsheet and email it to the management team each month.

Eliminate duplication
Don’t maintain a separate sales catalogue – use RD to pick up descriptions, images and prices of your products from Inventory Control (IC) and arrange them in a stylish and user-friendly booklet ready for printing. You can even save it as a PDF file and email it to your customers or publish it on your website, saving on printing and postage costs as well!

Get focused
When you have new products to sell, RD can gather up the names and addresses of customers who have previously bought similar products, add pictures and descriptions of the new items and create personally addressed fliers for a targeted promotional campaign.

Improve cashflow
Be proactive in obtaining payment promptly from your customers. Use Accredo’s RD to develop 7-day statements, or collate customer transaction data and contact details to create a single information source for credit control staff to work from.

Save reports as PDF or MS Excel files, then email them to save time as well as printing and postage costs

Be a whiz or use a wizard

Query by example
You don’t have to be an SQL programmer to develop queries in Accredo’s RD. Just use the QBE (query by example) builder to drag and drop tables and create joins to connect them, tick the fields you want to report on and let RD write the query for you. More advanced users will find this a quick and easy way to develop basic queries, which you can then modify.

Work wonders with the wizard
The RD report designer in works the same way as the document designers in other Accredo modules. A handy wizard helps you to arrange titles, column headings, groupings and totals, so even a novice can create a great-looking report with a minimum of effort. For coding experts, the wizard will save you time in developing a basic layout to which you can add more complex features such as multiple banding or further manipulate raw data with MaxBasic coding.

Export your efforts
The report designer wizard supports exporting to MS Excel – just allocate a row and column position for each component and your report will look just as good in Excel as it did in the original format. You can also arrange your exported data differently – information which appears on several lines of a printed report may occupy a single column on your spreadsheet, or you can export just a subset of the report data.

Develop or delegate
Develop your report writing skills by attending an Accredo RD workshop or, if you prefer to concentrate on other things, commission your QSP or the Accredo support team to design custom reports for you.

The QBE (Query By Example) builder and the report design wizard will help beginners develop basic reports easily, and allow advanced users to work more quickly and efficiently
