Meet the team
Accredo is run by a small, but dedicated team of business and software professionals. Meet the people behind the products.
Kevin enjoys selling Accredo software because "you're not just 'selling', you're actually doing someone a good turn - Accredo has the potential to improve life for everyone, from employees to management".
Well-known for his good humour, Kevin's secret is simple: "It's easy to be happy when you are working with the best - Accredo people are all fun and interesting, with a genuine passion for what they are doing, and the products really do what we say they can do".
Having performed almost every role since she joined in 1991, Tish is now a shareholder and is involved in software design and testing as well as training and the day-to-day running of the company.
The key customer advocate in the design team, Tish's focus is on how are users actually going to use this feature. Tish believes that, while Accredos New Zealand base is important to many clients, making it easy to get in contact, it is the people involved at all levels that make both the company and its products stand out: We are passionate about what we do; we care about our customers and our products; we stand behind them and we don't pass the buck.
"We are not just technology," he says, "we are technology serving people. We need to use technology to remove frustrations and limitations so people can get on with their work".
He believes the reason Accredo software stands out is "in our attitude" - rather than developing a one-size-fits-all product and expecting customers to adapt their businesses, "we want to embrace the way each business is different and unique, so we provide software that can be customised to suit our clients."
As a former user of Accredo software, she finds she can "really relate to the user's perspective and explain things in layman's terms" and she thrives on helping users find "better, easier and time-saving ways of using the system." Victoria says her work is facilitated by "great products - I have a lot of faith in them;" a supportive environment. "Accredo is a very fair company to deal with;" and the fact that the products are constantly being improved in response to user feedback and requests.
When he developed the first version of the Profax software in the early 1980s before the growth of personal computing it was his ingenuity and commitment that forged the values the company still embodies today. In addition to reliable products, Adrian prides himself on the knowledge and accessibility of the people who work for Accredo. They always do what they say they will, and you are never left sitting in a priority queue, says Adrian.
"Accredo puts a lot of time and thought into building strong foundations for their software, and this really pays off," he adds.
"The quality of the product is very high," he says,"and by approaching things as a new user, trying to do unexpected things, I help to ensure it stays that way."
"I'm always amazed at how we can use scripting to 'grow' the software for an individual user's needs," he says.
"Software development is a very inventive process," he says, "and Accredo do it very well."
“My responsibility is to test the product, find the bugs and fix them. I spend my days thinking up new ways to try and break the software.”
Manish takes his role seriously and moved to Accredo from his previous job at Vodafone so he could dedicate himself to testing – all day and every day. Manish says it takes a mixture of technical skill and imagination to be a good tester.
“You have to know the software inside out, but you also have to think like a customer. You have put yourself in their shoes and imagine how they would want the software to operate and ensure it does so in a proper and logical manner.”
Having worked on some of the worlds best applications, Peter says Accredo meets the three essential criteria for excellence: it's easy to use, very well supported and extensible.
The transition was made easy by the "relaxed and helpful atmosphere;" and she finds the Accredo system "very easy to follow, even for someone new to computerised accounting."
He loved "solving real business problems that make a difference to real people." Max was a joy to work with and leaves a huge legacy in the product. We miss him.
"I undertake scripting and provide support for the product, and I came back because I like the environment." He says he enjoys being able to customise Accredo to match the particular needs of individual customers. "It is a very flexible product and it can be easily tailored to perform specific business processes."
The Accredo job was recommended to me and I am glad I grasped the opportunity to join the development team. "The product has high quality code and the infrastructure that exists to support the development team is very good."
